Domestic Air Conditioning Installation & Service

Home air conditioning that cools in summer and heats efficiently in winter. We design and install wall-mounted splits, multi-splits and discreet ducted systems for bedrooms, living rooms, home offices and loft conversions — with a free survey and a written, fixed quotation before any work starts.

What we install in homes

Most homes are served by a wall-mounted split system: one outdoor condenser and one indoor unit per room. Where several rooms need cooling, a multi-split runs up to five indoor units from a single outdoor unit, which keeps the external footprint down. For new builds and renovations we can conceal ducted units in the ceiling void with slim linear grilles.

Heating as well as cooling

Every system we install is a reversible heat pump. In winter it delivers roughly three to four units of heat for every unit of electricity used, so it can be a cheaper way to heat a single room than turning on the whole gas central heating system. Rooms reach temperature in minutes rather than the best part of an hour.

What a home installation costs

A typical single-room wall-mounted split system installed in the UK starts from around £1,800–£4,000 depending on the unit, the pipework run and any electrical work required. Multi-split systems are priced on design. Every quotation is itemised — supply, installation, commissioning, electrics and making good — with no hidden extras.

Tidy installations, properly commissioned

Refrigerant pipework is run in trunking or concealed wherever practical, condensate is drained to a suitable point, and the system is nitrogen pressure-tested and vacuum-dried before charging. You get a demonstration of the controls, the commissioning figures and your warranty paperwork on handover.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need planning permission for home air conditioning?

In most cases no — an outdoor unit on a house is usually permitted development in England provided it is not on a wall or roof fronting a highway, sits below the height of the roof and meets the size and siting limits. Listed buildings, conservation areas and flats are the common exceptions. We will flag anything that needs an application at survey stage.

How much does home air conditioning cost to run?

A 3.5kW bedroom unit typically draws under 1kW of electricity once it reaches temperature, so running costs are modest. Inverter systems throttle back rather than cycling on and off, which is why they are far cheaper to run than older fixed-speed units.

Is air conditioning noisy in a bedroom?

Modern indoor units run from around 19–22 dB(A) on low fan — quieter than a whisper. Siting matters more than the badge: we position the indoor unit so airflow is not blowing directly at the bed and place the condenser away from bedroom windows and boundaries.

How long does a home installation take?

Most single-split installations are completed in one day. A two- or three-room multi-split usually takes two to three days depending on pipe runs and electrical work.

Does a domestic system need servicing?

Yes — at least annually. A service keeps filters and coils clean, protects indoor air quality, maintains efficiency and keeps most manufacturer warranties valid.
