Air Conditioning for Warehouses

Warehouses are hard to cool: big volumes, high roofs, roller doors and heat that collects at high level. We design practical solutions for the areas that matter — pick faces, packing benches, mezzanine offices, workshops and temperature-sensitive storage — rather than trying to condition thousands of cubic metres of empty air.

Cool the space that's used, not the roof

In a high-bay unit, warm air stratifies at roof level while people work at floor level. Blanket cooling of the whole volume is rarely justifiable. The economic approach is targeted: condition occupied zones, destratify the roof void in winter, and improve ventilation so the building purges heat instead of storing it.

Systems for industrial buildings

Equipment is selected for throw, robustness and serviceability at height, with access planned in from the start.

Mezzanine offices and trade counters

The office block inside a warehouse is usually the hottest place in the building — it sits in warm stratified air with poor ventilation and full of computers. These areas almost always warrant their own dedicated system with independent control, and they are quick and cost-effective to fit.

Working around live operations

We work around shift patterns and picking schedules, use MEWPs and scaffold towers with the right access plans, and provide full RAMS for work at height. Installations are phased aisle by aisle so despatch keeps moving.

Frequently asked questions

Can you air condition an entire warehouse?

Technically yes, but for most high-bay units it is rarely cost-effective. Targeting occupied zones, adding destratification and improving ventilation usually delivers the comfort required at a fraction of the capital and running cost. Where product requires whole-space control, we design for it properly.

Why is our mezzanine office so much hotter than the floor?

Warm air rises and collects at high level, and mezzanine offices sit in it with limited ventilation and their own IT heat gains. A dedicated split or multi-split system with its own controller solves it.

What about roller shutter doors being open all day?

Open doors make sealed cooling ineffective at the door line. We design around it with zoned cooling set back from openings, air curtains where suitable, and ventilation strategies rather than fighting the outdoor air.

Can you work at height safely in a live warehouse?

Yes. All work at height is covered by RAMS with MEWP or tower access, coordinated with your operations team and shift patterns.

Do you maintain industrial systems?

Yes — PPM contracts covering high-level units, mezzanine systems, AHUs and ventilation, with a digital asset register listing every unit on site.
