Retail & customer spaces
Air Conditioning for Shops & Retail
A comfortable shop keeps customers browsing for longer and staff working comfortably behind the till. We install and maintain retail air conditioning across the UK — from single high-street units to chains and shopping-centre stores — working overnight and out of trading hours so you never close.
The challenges retail units bring
Shops face heat gains most spaces do not: large shopfront glazing, high-output display and spot lighting, doors propped open onto the street, and fluctuating customer numbers through the day. Deep, narrow units also trap warm air at the back where the stockroom and staff areas sit.
Systems that work in a shop
Ceiling cassettes distribute air evenly through a sales floor and disappear into the ceiling grid. Ducted units are the tidiest option where the shopfit demands a clean ceiling. Ceiling-suspended units suit units with no void, and air curtains over the entrance stop conditioned air pouring into the street when doors are open.
- Ceiling cassettes for open sales floors
- Concealed ducted units for premium shopfits
- Ceiling-suspended units where there is no void
- Air curtains over entrance doors
- Separate control for stockrooms and staff areas
- Timers and scheduling tied to trading hours
Installed overnight, trading as normal
Most retail installations are delivered outside trading hours. We work to shopping-centre and landlord permit systems, provide RAMS and insurances, and leave the sales floor clean and ready to trade in the morning.
Multi-site retail portfolios
For chains we consolidate maintenance across the estate: one contract, one contact, one reporting format, with each store holding its own digital asset register and service history. Store managers can scan a QR code on a unit to report a fault without going through head office.

Frequently asked questions
Can you install shop air conditioning without closing the store?
Yes — almost all of our retail work is carried out overnight or outside trading hours, so the shop opens as normal the next day.
What size system does a shop need?
It depends on floor area, glazing, lighting load and door usage far more than on floor area alone. A shopfront with full-height glass and halogen display lighting can need double the cooling of a similar-sized internal unit. We survey and calculate before quoting.
Do air curtains actually help?
Yes, where doors are held open. They form a barrier of moving air across the doorway that reduces the amount of conditioned air lost to the street and keeps the entrance area comfortable.
Do you cover retail parks and shopping centres?
Yes, including working to centre management permit-to-work systems and delivery access restrictions.
Can you look after every store in our chain?
Yes. We run UK-wide multi-site maintenance with a single contract, consolidated reporting and a digital asset register per store.
