Air Conditioning for Restaurants

Restaurants have two very different problems in one building: a dining room where customers must be comfortable and quiet, and a kitchen where the heat and grease are relentless. We design and maintain systems for both, and we install them overnight so service is never interrupted.

Cooling the dining room

Front of house needs even, quiet, draught-free cooling. Full covers add a lot of body heat and the pass door lets kitchen heat through every few seconds. We position units so no table sits under a cold jet, favour low-noise indoor units so conversation is not competing with fan noise, and zone the bar, dining and waiting areas separately.

Kitchens, ventilation and make-up air

A commercial kitchen extract canopy pulls a large volume of air out of the building, and it has to be replaced. Without tempered make-up air the kitchen goes negative, doors slam, extraction underperforms and the dining room gets dragged full of cooking smells. We look at extract, make-up air and cooling together rather than bolting a split onto a problem it cannot solve.

Grease means more frequent servicing

Airborne grease coats coils and filters far faster in hospitality than in an office. Kitchen-adjacent equipment typically needs quarterly attention, and extract systems need scheduled deep cleaning to stay effective and to satisfy insurers and environmental health expectations.

Installed overnight, open as normal

We work after last covers and overnight, protect finished surfaces, and have the restaurant clean and ready for service the next day. Emergency call-out is available when kitchen cooling or cellar cooling fails.

Frequently asked questions

Can air conditioning cool a commercial kitchen?

Only as part of the whole ventilation picture. Extract canopy performance and tempered make-up air do most of the work; comfort cooling then handles what is left. Fitting a split system alone into an under-ventilated kitchen rarely fixes the problem.

Will customers feel a draught?

Not with correct unit positioning and airflow settings. We place units so no table sits directly under discharge and set louvre angles at commissioning with the room laid out as it trades.

How often does restaurant air conditioning need servicing?

Dining room systems generally twice a year; kitchen-adjacent equipment and extract systems typically quarterly because of grease loading.

Can you install without closing the restaurant?

Yes. Hospitality installations are carried out overnight and between services, with the site cleaned and handed back before opening.

Do you cover cellar cooling?

Yes — cellar cooling and cold room support, including service and emergency attendance when temperatures start to drift.
